How might we...

  • How might we stay engaged with each other on an ongoing basis?
    • How might we capture and share the spirit and content of meetings with those who didn’t participate?
      • How might we lift up Wye River leaders work that is featured in the media in order to drive them to the Wye River Website?

Hypothesis

If we feature media content that lifts up Wye Leaders and their intersectional, collaborative work on the Wye website then Wye leaders will go the website and leave comments on the corresponding posts.

Design

Post on Wye River Website media involving Wye Leaders. Criteria for posting:
  • Collaboration / partnership
  • Intersectional analysis is present
  • Can make connection with Wye River
  • Wye River Leader is featured
Try it for two weeks and post 5 times.

Metrics

We want active participation on the website. We want to see an increase in comments on conversation posts (from baseline 2 as of 8/10/16). Success: 3 total comments on the Mediated Mirror posts. Epic: 2 new people comment and more than 3 total comments on the Mediated Mirror posts.

Learnings

This experiment failed, we didn't post five times and there were zero comments on our posts from Wye Leaders. However, we saw that Wye Leaders do pay attention to national media that features fellow leaders and were proactive in posting this to the Wye River listserv and chiming in with thoughtful and congratulatory messages. Wye Leaders are used to having the listserv as the main mode of communication, maybe difficult to get them to regularly reference Wye River Website.

If the listserv is the best mode of communication for Wye Leaders, how could Miles River team use that channel to reflect back to leaders ways in which their work is the work of Wye River (eg. Wye River isn't an additional or separate piece of work)?
